Band and orchestra are offered beginning in the 5th grade as an enrichment subject that teaches life-long skills and fosters creativity and self-expression. Music is for everyone and we are committed to ensuring that every child has a positive, fulfilling experience. There are many benefits to having your student enrolled in the band or orchestra program. Children who learn to play an instrument learn discipline, cooperation with others, and a new way to a fuller, richer life. An instrument puts them into worthwhile school activities and gives them something interesting, pleasurable, and profitable to do during their leisure time. Research has also shown that children who participate in music are often among the highest-achieving academic students.
