What is Band?

Director

Miss Shaffer is a graduate of Elmhurst University and has a BA in Music Education. This is her fourth year directing a band and her sixth in education. She is a Clarinet Player and Multi-Instrumentalist. "Music is to the soul what words are to the mind."

Welcome to the St. Thomas More Band! Here you will find more information about band and how to enroll. I look forward to guiding your child on their musical journey! Percussion students will learn both bells and drum set.

Students who participate in music have the lowest levels of current and lifelong use of alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drugs among any group in our society.
